About Stoker : Studio

Welcome to Stoker Studio, The Photography, Graphic and Web Design house of Designer and Creative Vonmari Joubert.

Every creative person will agree that when you look back on your life, this is what you always needed to do and become. As a child and teenager my room was filled with different art material, my school books decorated with doodles and biology sketches a masterpiece. Late nights where made short with art projects which never tires you.

After six months of studying B.Sc at the University of North West, I craved for creative work, I needed to do something inspiring… After careful consideration I applied at The Open Window School of Visual Communication and started my degree in Visual Communication in 2008. During the course of my studies I started on projects for clients including Eastplats Crocodile River Mine, SAToyTrade and shoot my first few weddings. Subjects at The Open Window included: Communication Design (Layout, Corporate Identity and Print Design – generally referred to as graphic design), Photography (with a wide variety of modules including portraiture, architecture, product, macro, fashion and night photography), Interactive Media Design (this is online based design and development of websites, interactive platforms and animations), Visual Culture (an Academic subject that delves into popular culture, trends, art history and the theories and literature supporting visual communication) and supportive subjects: Drawing and Illustration.

Stoker Studio were officially opened in 2011 doing mostly corporate identity development for companies in and around Hartbeespoort. Main projects and work for the first year included photography for TME a ball relining company and filler photography for GradX magazine, a premium graduate magazine developed by Student Village. Design work included training material for The Leadership Framework Company, Catalogues for SAToyTrade, Brochures and Marketing material for BBraun. Websites for Basil’s Boma, SAToyTrade and Talent Factor together with Corporate Identity development.

The workload increased and in 2012 Stoker Studio appointed two junior designers to help with projects. New corporate clients Auto Pedigree, Hartbeespoort Aerial Cableway and Ambatha kept us busy with marketing material, national advertisements, online advertising and branding exercises. SAToyTrade one of Stoker Studio’s existing clients started developing their own product ranges for which we are the appointed designers and photographers. In August 2012 we exhibited at the wedding expo and had great response since then.

Stoker Studio strives to provide clients with an excellent service, be the “in-house” designer for companies and deliver projects on time.
