Technically photography is derived from the Greek terms ‘phos’ (light) and ‘graphis’ (paintbrush), put it together and photography are “paint with light”. This implies that photography is the recording of pictures by capturing light on a light sensitive medium. A good photographer always decides on the lighting first secondly how the picture should be taken.

Tony Armstrong-Jones said “I believe that photographs should be simple technically, and easy to look at. They shouldn’t be directed at other photographers, their point is to make people react – to laugh, or to see something they hadn’t taken in before, or to be touched. But not to wince, I think.”
